Sleep disorders caused by breathing problems are only second to insomnia in prevalence, with many people undiagnosed and suffering long-term damage to their hearts, vascular systems, metabolism, moods, and more because of it.
ANYBODY can suffer from these problems, from young to old, obese to underweight, male to female.
If you suspect you have sleep-disordered breathing, or have been told you do by others (loud snoring, gasping, long pauses in breathing, in example), please consult your physician. The consequences are too serious to ignore if you don't.
From snoring to upper airway resistance to sleep apnea to other sleep-breathing disorders (SBDs), let's take a look at what's been in the news.
Categories include upcoming events, public health items, SBD basics, SBDs and heart health, SBDs and stroke, SBDs and diabetes, SBDs and allergies/asthma, untreated SBDs, positive airway pressure (PAP) therapies, oral appliance therapy and dental sleep medicine, procedures, lifestyle and hygiene, women and SBDs, SBDs in the pediatric population, research & development, and products.
This week's links were published or updated between 4.1.16 and 6.5.16.
